Berkdrums Admittedly, this album was a gift to me. Based on some random listening at first I probably would not have bought it, because sonically there’s so much going on for my ears. I know this is all not important.. bút I’m just so glad I got the chance to listen to this album over and over. I think it’s an amazing sonic adventure, with new details within each listen.. love the combination of sounds with field-, and ambiancerecordings. It has grown on me and those kind of albums stay with you...

Tomosla is the alias of UK artists James Osland and Thomas Hoey. Having been long time friends and collaborators ‘a small town in the mountains’ is the first full-length release from the duo.

Based around a series of improvised sessions recorded back in 2018, ‘a small town in the mountains’ was inspired by fond memories of their time spent deep in the mountains of New Zealand’s South Island. Reminiscing of days spent stargazing, mountain climbing and lake swimming the album unfolds the memories of time spent in a small town in the mountains.
