Lost Tribe Sound A fantastic and wholly alive sound has been achieved on this debut from Kaleidophon. Between the objects immediately feels akin. Dabbling in opulent sonic alchemy that crosses paths with the likes of Toàn, the remote viewer, Masayoshi Fujita, or Spheruleus, yet it contains dna that is all its own.

Shimmering moods presents the debut album from Kaleidophon, aka joergmueller. With many releases in the field of dub and dub-techno and some humble first exploration in the field of ambient, Between the objects is the first full length ambient/ electro-acoustic album under his moniker Kaleidophon.
Created during the first two years of the pandemic, the tracks move between ambient pop landscapes, guitar drones and minimal rhythmic structures.
Sound sources are mainly self built bass kalimba and noise box, guitar, toy instruments and small objects to create background textures, all processed with various looping setups.

have yet to translate the song titles so the artist's intentions are somewhat of a mystery to me, but the wavering surface noise creates the theme of a dialogue between music & technology before becoming invisible to my ears. this conjures memories of listening to music as a child (long before the sterility of digital media), when i rarely took notice of the hiss & pops of records, 8-tracks, tapes, & am radio because they were a normal, necessary aspect of recorded sound. nice to be back again.
