Lost Tribe Sound
One of the most distinct and impactful rhythmic-noise-ambient styled albums out there. Heaving orchestral marches barely take form under the weight of the massive decay obscuring their path. Elsewhere, lighter but no less obscure electronic patterns shift the mood, lending a respite from the gloom. Behrooz Moosavi needs to continue to explore this mode.
Martin Heidegger defines Ontological Death as a kind of collapse of the imaginary order, the breakdown of sets of meanings and orders we draw on to establish and sustain our sense of identity and reality. One is ontologically dead when one cannot be anything, because the sense of significance of the self, one draws to define oneself, has lost all its meaning.
“On Ontological Death” is a self-therapeutic musical discourse that I had with me over the years of my migration to Germany. A dislocated, disoriented young musician, as a subject of cultural imperialism, dreaming of a non-plausible future.
Throughout the years, the more the images of this possible future were dissolving in my head, the more blurry images of my past were becoming present. Images, memories, tonal, and auditory expressions and feelings that somehow lost their spacetime and coordination.
My auditory memory was becoming more and more sentient, sensitive, and the loss of which was the “object cause of my musical desires”, left me as a musician (or so I defined myself) without any “musical desires” or ambitions.
What I was left with was those musical memories of my past, which I had from my childhood, the melodies, tunes and songs that I grew up with as a kid which I had been refusing to remember until that point in my life. They were haunting me down more and more.
I started listening to the cassette tapes that my parents recorded for me and my brother as kids, some of them dating back to 40-50 years ago, and which I brought with me as I moved to Germany, and those became the ever-haunting music of the migration days for me. There were moments, fragments and notes in those pieces that were engraved in my ears, moments of which were ever- existing ghosts in my head, repeating themselves over and over again.
I started haunting them back. I made tape loops out of those cassettes and made collages out of them which I was listening to on the cassette players for hours in my room. I made them mine, or they made me theirs. The specters of my past and my lost futures dissolved into each other through the melancholia, bleakness and soreness of these never-ending loops, into a limbo of a non-existing present.
The album is a selection of those analogue loops I created which I developed and edited later digitally. I have no claim on the composition of these pieces, but rather they are ghosts of the music that haunted me down for years. I just tried to capture them.
Among the tapes that I used in this work are works of Pari Zanganeh, Samin Baghtcheban, Fikret Amirov and a number of unlabeled tapes of folk music whose composers I can’t find.

A wonderful musical collection that shows the unity of the whole world and the support of Ukraine during the long war, which will undoubtedly end with the victory of Ukraine. And now the terrible numbers... Only according to official data as of today #russiaisaterroriststate killed 510 children in Ukraine, injured another 1141 children, kidnapped 19546 children. There are many more unofficial victims. And russia remains a member of the UN... desynkro303
