The modern workplace can be defined as a “physical and emotional space,” where employees perform their daily tasks. “Thank You,” explores the connotations of these tasks and critiques how workplaces often provide an ingenuine image of productivity and purpose. I utilized improvisational looped-based material to propose we question our daily routines and aspirations. The seven tracks are ordered to highlight the juxtaposition of emotions in finding a work life balance. Vocal granular synthesis, randomized generative midi sequencing, and sampling are the basis of many of the productions. Overall, I hope to challenge the definition of the modern workplace by providing a new space for deep listening, healing, and reflection.
