Marc Méan is a professional jazz musician living in Zürich, Switzerland.
As a pianist he is bandleader and co-leader ( Fields, Service Fun, Marc Méan Solo, Quiet Tree) as well as co-musician in many other bands.
For years, he has been active in the international and Swiss music scene with stylistically diverse bands, ranging from mainstream jazz with “Mats
Up” to free jazz with “Philippe & Paul” to ambient jazz with his solo project, electro-pop with the band “True” and even psychedelic rock with “Service Fun”, which has already performed at over 70 concerts in Switzerland, France and Belgium since 2016.

Since 2020, he is focusing more and more on his solo project, mixing electronic and acoustic elements. He has developed his own musical style, which consists mainly of looping old tapes, “objet trouvé” sounds and improvisations. He layers these on top of each other, creating ghostly-sounding feedback inthis way. For him, the loop is always a metaphor for questions of temporality, memory and history. He is just finished working on his fifth solo album called « Winds »

Winds is a journey through the ethereal world of ambient soundscapes. With its intricate layers of synthesizers, piano, tape loops, and found sounds, this album captures the essence of wind as a powerful and ever-changing force of nature. From gentle breezes to raging storms, these tracks evoke a sense of serenity, mystery, and drama.
